ABOUT Phil

Phil is Vice President and Manager for the Kentucky National Commercial Services operation. He maintains the exceptional established culture while growing the offices. Phil ensures the company continues to provide top level customer service and maintaining our high professional standards in the industry.

Joining the company in 2008 with the Omaha Center, he managed claims and started up the recoupment department. The department grew and was collecting tens of millions of dollars under his watch. In his following role as Senior Managing Counsel, Phil’s responsibilities were to oversee the claim team managers and ensure that the teams were running smoothly. He was also tasked with testifying on behalf of the company in depositions and trials in various suits against the company. Phil relocated to Chicago to run the In-house litigation office. The In-house office is comprised of the boots on the ground attorneys that go to court for the company’s insureds and the company itself.

In 2015, Phil was asked to assume the Deputy Direction position which consisted of managing all the IHL offices for the eastern half of the country.

Phil led the initiative to have Illinois statute 1401 changed to protect BFPs from losing their property years after purchase. He has led multiple seminars including on leadership and communication.

In 2022, Phil was asked to relocate to Ohio and manage two commercial offices.  In addition to those two offices, Phil recently opened a National Commercial Services office in Louisville to better serve our Kentucky customers.

Phil has B.S. in criminal justice from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. He earned his J.D. from the University of Iowa and received the Muchemore full ride out of state scholarship in law school.

Phil was born and raised in Omaha, Nebraska and spent 11 years in the Chicagoland area. He is married with 4 children and enjoys watching them play sports and taking his dogs on walks.
